Our Mission
Glad Tidings Church is not an institution but a movement of people who understand that we are Jesus’ plan to transform and heal our community.
Our Vision
We see a church where every follower of Jesus is missional and that mission is fulfilled by the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
We see a church that encourages and equips believers to take Jesus into every segment of society.
We see a church that offers life-changing gatherings for worship and teaching.
We see a church that teaches, trains, and inspires through excellence in all ministries.
We see a church where it is normal for people to take ownership of their own spiritual growth and become reproducing followers of Jesus.
We see a church that meets the growing needs of families and partners with parents to disciple their children.
We see a church where small groups are equipped and united by the same mission.
We see a church where consumer-oriented Christians will not feel comfortable.
We see a church that finds, celebrates, and tells stories of our people being the church.
We see a church that is a gathering place for the neighbourhood, a place that exists for the unique purpose of elevating and transforming our community.
Our Core Values
The worship of God is our primary ministry, pursued with passion and offered in reverence with humility and joy. Ps. 5:7-8, 11-12; 22:3; 34:1-3; 100:4; Rom. 12:1; Heb. 13:15.
The Word of God is our final authority and source of guidance, calling us to a faith-filled, obedient, Godly life-style. Heb. 4:12; Jas. 1:22-25; Rev. 22:18-19.
The biblically modeled family is God’s foundational social entity and is to be nourished and preserved as such.
Fundamental to this value is the sanctity of marriage, biblical sexuality, and human life. Gen.2:24; Ps. 139; Matt. 19:4-5; Mk. 10:6-9; Rom. 1:18-32; 1 Cor. 7:2; Eph. 5.
The ministry of the Church is to be conveyed through the means of maturing believers: equipped in the Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and making disciples. Is. 43:12, 44:8; Matt. 28:20; Acts 1:8, 22:15; Rom. 10:14-17; 2 Tim. 4:2; 1 Pet. 3:15.
To live is to give – in tithes, offerings, and all of life’s resources. We steward what we have been given, recognizing that these are from God’s hand, yet ours to obediently distribute. 2 Cor. 9:6-12.
The baptism with the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in other tongues, is vital for prayer, praise, intercession, and edification, and is a desirable and an available resource for every believer. Mk. 16:17; Rom. 8:26; 1 Cor. 12-1-11.
